I have loved espresso for most of my adult life.  I’m not sure how it started because I don’t remember ever thinking. "Hmmm…espresso…good!"  There was no real defining moment when I decided I was a diehard espresso drinker.  It sort of crept up on me.

As a kid growing up, I was probably disadvantaged.  I didn’t come from a line of "serious" coffee drinkers.  Actually, they may have been serious, but my parents favoured instant coffee, and coffee from Tim Hortons (not great, but actually not bad for a doughnut shop!)

When I went away to school, I probably started drinking coffee heavily to stay awake during "all-nighters."  As well, I remember there was a small shop in town with an in house 5 pound lab roaster.  My then wife-to-be and I spent countless hours just hanging out there.  Perhaps that’s where I picked up my penchant for coffee, roasting, and especially espresso.  Who knows?  I definitely have the bug now!
